Naimatullah Gichki
Naimatullah Gichki was born on 16th April 1948 in Surab, Panjgur, Balochistan. After his matriculation exam in Panjgur in 1968, he continued his studies in Quetta and Karachi, earning his MBBS degree in 1976. He worked as a medical doctor in Panjgur. In the 1980s, Gichki was politically active, especially in supporting marginalized communities, which led to his involvement in various local development projects. His medical and social services earned him recognition, and he eventually moved back to Quetta, where he became more actively involved in the political sphere. In the 1990s, he also served with the World Mission for Indigenous Communities, focusing on providing medical and educational assistance in remote areas of Balochistan. Over the years, Gichki also published and published at least three significant books related to the history, culture, and literature of Balochistan, including Aaina-e-Balochistan and Barish Ke Ansoo (Tears of the Rain), which were widely appreciated by intellectuals and literary circles. He was known for his steadfast commitment to serving humanity and his efforts to address health disparities in underprivileged communities. He was also one of the pioneers advocating for improved healthcare services in rural Balochistan. In addition to his literary and medical contributions, Gichki was active in the creation of a medical journal at Bolan Medical College.

Khawar Mumtaz is a feminist activist and founder member of the national platform for women's rights, Women's Action Forum. She served as a general body member of SAP-PK since August 08, 1987, and also a member of the board of directors in 2002. She was Chairperson of SAP-PK from September 21, 2007 to June 04, 2010. She was Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women (2013-2016), right before that CEO of the leading feminist organization, Shirkat Gah-Women's Resource Centre. Mumtaz’s interest and expertise include issues of women’s empowerment, political participation, economic empowerment, legal rights, environment, reproductive health, and gender relations.
She was awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan, Two Stars-Grand Prize for Women's Rights by France, and the Prime Minister's Award for Women’s Rights. She was also one of 1000 women worldwide nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005 and has served in various national and international platforms as an advocate for women’s empowerment. Mumtaz is also Board of Trustees of Women University and Chair of the Senate of Karakoram International University.
